Situated just off the Holloway Road, the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art is housed in a beautiful Georgian building – it’s the perfect site for a relaxing afternoon taking in sculpture and Futurist paintings.

This relatively new London gallery houses some of the most important pieces of Italian art from the early 20th century, mostly under the banner of Futurism, a movement founded in 1909 by F. T. Marinetti. Artists on display here include Umberto Boccioni, who represents the first artistic responses to the Futurist scene and Medardo Rosso, who was hailed as one the most influential sculptors of his time.

This particular London attraction is the only art gallery in the country to focus on the importance of modern Italian art to European art and culture; the gallery also holds regular workshops for both adults and children around the subject and themes discussed in the permanent exhibitions. If the idea of visiting one of the smaller, more intimate London art galleries appeals to you then there are few better examples in the capital.

Just one of the many London galleries you can see for free with your London Pass, the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art is truly a mind-expanding experience. This is a must see London attraction for art lovers.
